Must see places in Amsterdam
So... what do the mighty WHO recommend visiting when one has a spare day in the city of Amsterdam?

All food tastes better if you've primed your taste buds by licking the window in your nan's spare bedroom a few times first.

All food in the Netherlands is shit. Worst in Europe.

Although I like a bit of haring. Better in Sweden though.

Also get a KAPSALON. It's like a kebab but better.

Also there's a chain of places (can't remember the name) that sells burgers etc out of vending machines. Don't ask questions...it's mega cheap and superb for food on the go if you're just there beering etc. Anyway they're everywhere. Expect to get hassled for change off homeless types though.

Re: Must see places in Amsterdam
Would generally agree with the people saying it's overrated...

BUT

This shouldn't dampen your enjoyment of it.

There are LOADS of pubs/bars. Some are full of pissed up English cunts on stag dos and charge €8 a beer. If you go to one of these knowing you'll hate it, you'll have a shit time, but of course that's what you're going for, crack on.

There are some fantastic restaurants with brilliant service, too many to list. Cannibal Royale is one I remember. One thing I remember about the eateries is the service is generally excellent.

A lot of the appeal is probably just walking around and taking it all in. If you wanna do this then it's worth remembering there's more to it than just the red light area, and literally 2 minutes walk away from all that you'll find some really nice quiet streets which are still dotted with bars and cafes, you'll definitely find somewhere you like the look of to sit in and have a beer/coffee/omelette.

Basically if you want peep shows and drugs you'll get it, but if you don't, then its easily avoided.

Didn’t Rolf make a song about Amsterdam, clip clippety clop or something or am I confusing this with two little boys?

The Heineken Tour I thought was really good, and also the Lookout Tower (or whatever it's called) is really good too that includes a swing that swings out over the edge of the building.
Also, would highly recommend getting fucked up in a coffee shop and going to the sex museum, absolutely hilarious

Only ever been to Arnhem and it was on Kings Day, so was pretty good and lively.

Like everywhere it depends what you're going there for and as a piss head, I'm sure I'd have a decent time in Amsterdam.

Thought Bruges and Brussels were lovely places to look at, but they're just really boring as are the people.

I spent time in Den Haag as well. Another shithole. Generally the whole of the Netherlands is shit.

Scheveningen beach is ok in the summer.

Get a train to Belgium. Antwerp, Brugge, Ghent and Brussels all much better.

Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh (Prounced Ho which is ironic) museum.

The rest is shit. Generally a massively overrated city full of wankers.

The Supper club and Club.nl not bad for night life.

Haha, glad someone mentions the Efteling.

I used to go there as a kid when we were visiting my mum and dad’s friends in s’Hertogenbosch.

It’s a sort of weird theme park which would be quite amusing to go round if you were stoned.

They die pigeons all different colours.

Canal cruise is worth an hour or so of your time . Loads of obscure museums pointed out (handbags anyone?) book via trip advisor to save 10 euro a head.
